What knowledge base should I know before I start with Machine learning?

I have no background whatsoever with machine learning. I have weak to average skills when it comes to Linear algebra, probability and statistics however I am very determined to learn ML.
What branches of Linear algebra , probability and statistics should I study or review so that I can immediately get started/read machine learning related books or machine learning in general?
For clarification I am trying to learn machine learning through self teaching using books
