在拉高外頻過程中,隨時調整倍頻NB、HT以及DDR3記憶體速度,避免隨著外頻提高過頭,導致造成超頻失敗的阻力。最終確認倍頻由17X降至13X,NB、HT速度則提升達到2400 MHz,此時外頻成功由200 MHz上到300 MHz,換算成處理速度已經是3.9 GHz。至於,DDR3記憶體速度則來到1200 MHz。

頂級龍二965上300MHz外頻後,處理速度增加約14%,對於浮點運算項目最多有16%成長,wprime V2.0軟體的32M測試環境,這U已經挺近10秒俱樂部。三隻豬軟體系列顯示出CPU效能最多可以再榨出13%效能。遊戲測試上也發現,965超頻之後,帶來遊戲張數成長,其中以Unigine Tropics Demo(DX10.1)的FPS值增加最多。
