I very agree to give your schoolmate a gift on his(her) birthday. A gift can give him(her) a surprise, a friendship, and a wish. Think about it, when someone give you a gift, you will be very happy ,won’t you?
A gift can deepen the friendship. Maybe he (she) does not regard you as a best friend when you give him(her) the gift. But when you give him (her) a nice gift, he(she) will be very moved. So your friendship with him will become much further.
Some students think that it is a waste of money to give other people gifts . But you need not spend money on gifts. As the saying goes, it's the thought that counts. The gift made by yourself can be more express your heart.
Oh yes, on parents’ birthday, Mother's Day, Father's Day,and Thanksgiving Day,don't forget to give your parents gifts! You should make the gift by yourself! Your parents will be very happy!
