以what, who, where, when, why, how 提问的问题,可以从文章中直接找到答案。

When you cough or sneeze, you should____?(当你咳嗽或打喷嚏的时候,你应该…?)

A. touch everything     B. cover your mouth

  C. point out to the kids   D. pass the germs to others

When you cough or sneeze, you'd better turn your head away from others and cover your mouth with the full part of your hand.

②In the 19th century England people liked to go to the seaside. In those days, ladies wore long bathing dresses, and men wore bathing suits.Women did not walk about on the beach(沙滩)in their bathing dresses. They hired a bathing machine. A bathing machine was used for changing in, and for taking the bather down to the sea. It cost 2 pence(便士) to hire a machine and an attendant(侍者). When she had paid, the bather climbed up the back steps and got into the bathing machine . Then she changed into her bathing dress. When she had changed, the machine was pulled down to the sea. The bathing machine stoped in the water and the bather went down the front steps into the water. If she did not want to get into the sea, the attendant pulled her in.

③I had the meanest (最刻薄的) mother in the whole world. While other kids ate candy for breakfast, I had to have porridge, eggs or toast. When others had Cokes and candy for lunch, I had to eat a sandwich. But at least I wasn’t alone when I was sad. My sister and two brothers had the same mean mother as I did.

How many children does the writer’s mother have?

A. Four.    B. Two.     C. Three.    D. Six.

④When we cut down the rainforests, we destroy these forest people, too. In 1900, there were 1,000,000 forest people in the Amazon forest. In 1980, there were only 200,000.

The number of the people living in the Amazon forest in 1980 was ______of that in 1900.

A. half   B. one-third    C. two-fifths    D. one-fifth
