In the modern society,competition is everywhere.No wonder an English philosopher considers competition to be the source of a series of problems such as frustration and anxiety.However,if we emphasized cooperation too much,there would be no progress.In my opinion,both are important and isdispensable,and we shouldn't go to extremes in overvaluing the importance of either.
Let's take the competion at school for example.Even a gifted student won't make remarkable progress if he is in a class without competition.That's because competition or rather challenge is a driving force making him go forward.On the other hand ,if we don't cooperate with each other,it's impossible for us to learn from each other.And that's why most of the great discoveries or invetions in the modern world are the result of cooperation.
To conclude,those who laugh last are the people who can successfully cope with the contradictory relationship between competition and cooperation and neglect neither of their importance.
