内容简介 Cover Story
In the 35 years since China and Japan normalized diplomatic relationship has traveled a sometimes rocky path. Though economic ties are quite strong, such issues as disputes over World War II history and visits by Japanese leaders to the controversial Yasukuni Shrine have strained the fabric of those ties. Yet, things are looking brighter now. Leaders of the two countries have exchanged visits, helping to create a more trusting atmosphere. And scholars from both countries are jointly investigating the history issues, hoping to reach a consensus. Perhaps even more important, despite the problems, Chinese and Japanese are finding strong cultural links, helping to foster goodwill that it is hoped will last.
