Her book, "'Glorious Gardens of Ireland"', was published in 1999. She is Gardening Editor of "'Red"' magazine. Melanie's own garden is in Southern England, on an exposed hill with stunning views of the surrounding chalk downs.^Elspeth Thompson writes about gardening for the "'Sunday Telegraph Magazine"' and a collection of her columns has been published as "'The Urban Gardener"'. She has worked at "'The World of Interiors"' and contributes to "'Vogue"' and "'Elle Decoration"' on gardening and interiors.
